Youth of Today- We're not in this alone


Alright youth crew! The vocals on some songs are really funny, the lyrics too sometimes (unintentionally), and its a pretty good cd to get pumped too. I used to listen to this before going to the gym! Also the singer became a hare krishna lol. It sounds like im making fun of this album but its one of my favorite hardcore albums.

11/17/08 mostly (foreign) garage rock!

generally pretty mellow show, started out a little rough, but mellowed out with some foreign garage rock. that sebadoh song is really rad too. lots of stuff from "Waking up Scheherazade: Arabian Psych Nuggets". also listen to the monks if you havent yet!

cool album to listen to #4

Nadja- Radiance of Shadows

This isn't like any of the other albums i've posted yet, its a slow one with 20 minute tracks. When I first saw the cover and that it was on Alien 8 records, i thought it was going to be some kind of dark drone, and hopefully somewhat blackened since i had just listened to noise/black metal group Menace Ruine off of the same label. I was sort of right, and it was better than i thought! I really hope I dont sound like a douchebag, but the first thing that came to mind was referring to it as blackened shoegazer. The guitar is way distorted and totally has a wall of sound thing going on, pretty dark, and slow drum machine in back. Amazing album to psych out to, and while lots of people incorrectly say a lot of albums are best listened to loud, no joke, best experience with this one is just blasting it fucking loud.

This show started out a teeny bit mellow, but the went into lots of fast short hardcore punk songs, a lil bit of grind, and exploded at the end with a great slow droney blackened shoegaze-ish track by Nadja.
